Our Purpose
We seek to support people in our community who may be at risk of isolation and loneliness due to factors such as loss of their partner from death, divorce or separation; unemployment due to redundancy or disability; or simply retirement.
These situations are major causes of depression and feelings of worthlessness, often leading to suicide. Men’s Sheds provide a facility where members of the community, inclusive of all nationalities, religions, abilities and ages (between 18 and 102 years) can meet, share and discuss ideas and issues, learn and share skills and foster a sense of mateship, wellbeing and belonging.
Our Shed
At the Inverloch Men’s Shed, we try to cater for all activities that we men might like to do, or at least try out. We have a strong focus on woodworking and cater to a wide range of abilities from beginners to experts. We take great pleasure in providing guidance and support for members who would like to develop their skills in this area. Our well-equipped workshop contains wood lathes, table saws, band and scroll saws and a wide range of manual and powered woodworking tools. A CNC router is now part of our tools. Members are encouraged to assist with Shed projects or to follow their own interests. We also arrange field trips to places of interest.
We are involved in many community activities, Setting up for Jazz festival, Bunnings BBQ, Local Markets to name a few.
